Distance

I stand there alone watching, one of the regulars. I try to think invisible and I wear no make up, nothing out of the ordinary. I look like a normal everyday passer-byer with no interest or anything mroe to the person than another distinct face.

Its so easy to just watch. watch those around me, those looking at cds those getting groceries. They all have apurpose for where they are. Whether to purchase a number of Items to hang out with a old friend or even to get away from every chaos and every pain that dwels inside th place they call home. I watch and I see every person has pain in their life, every one has relationships whether torn apart or close as two peas in a pod.

I watch people walk by at a distance. Just like me at most times, they go on with their life no thinking anyone really cares about them that doesnt know them, thinking that life cant get any better than the ditch they may be in, thinking that they are just as invisible as every other around them.

As I stand at this distance I can see by looking at someone when they are alone the pain and heartache they have endured to get to here. Something they may not realize, something I may not realize, is that there is eyes watching all the time. We may seem unimportant we may try to sink into the crowd and become invisible but as we walk with our head down and our guard up around our hearts there is that person just feet away from you wondering who you are really and how you got to where you are now.

We all see things at a distance sometimes, we always see people as normal and maybe even like a moving statue with no feeling no relationship no personality just another body. In the end its so simple; to go on without a care in the world when in a store and everyone is around you busying themselves just as you are, but when you are in a HAstings and there is not a person anywhere, we seem to notice.

We do see things but dont think about those things. And whats so weird is its kinda like the people we see are there but until we talk to them or know something, anything, even the smallest thing about them they arent real.

By the way, I am not a freak by watching. I just sit down at a Starbucks table and sip my coffee without interacting just sitting and observing. Try it sometime, you will start to see otehrs around you in a different pair of shades, more cleaner and smudge free. You will start to see that really you are  not the only one out there with pain and fears, you may even start to appreciate how great a God is that He created us all so different and genuine but in the same limelight the same.
